Well, I have been in San Francisco about 6 weeks. My son made it easy for me to change addresses by building me a little apartment behind his garage in his house. Now I am a "cellar dweller" (see below) with a little patio and all the fine amenities of a lovely one bedroom apartment. I even have little visitors from the main house, when they need to sneak a cookie from the always full jar.
So... what do I do as a new resident of the city. The people in the big house are pretty nice, and accommodating by keeping me busy with dinner requests and "pick up" schedules. Even though "Granny" duties are fun, I will need some adult friends and activities. So I will start out with the following:
- Sign up for a photography class - found one at City College at Fort Mason.
- Wander around the neighborhood and find a good coffee house.
- Check out the Muni schedule.
- Look for a Tai Chi class.
- Get the newspaper to see what is going on in the city that might be fun for a single person.
- Find a supermarket - we all have to eat.
And so I began my journey. Wednesday is Photography night and has proved to be great as it has provided me an excuse to hit some different parts of the City with my camera. I am real amateur when it comes to the camera so when the instructor gives an assignment it will be challenging to see if I can really do it.
